Prices & Choosing Your Seat

Understand starting prices, top-deck guarantees and the difference between sightseeing and included-refreshment options.

Researched 19 October 2026 · Independent tour comparison

What the starting prices actually mean

The nine inspected listings showed starting prices from £22 to £36 per person on 19 October 2026. Golden Tours started at £25, The Classic Tour at £22, and Lights & Bites at £36. These are listing-wide minimums, not quotes for a particular date, passenger age or deck. Enter everyone in your party to obtain your actual total.

Some listings displayed promotional prices. We use the current observed amount without calculating assumed savings or family totals. The full comparison shows the nine exact listings and their individual ratings so that a low headline price is not your only decision point.

Which tours guarantee the upper deck?

The Classic Tour, Big Bus and See London By Night explicitly include upper-deck seating. This does not promise a front-row seat. The Classic Tour allocates individual seats first come, first served.

Golden Tours uses deck-dependent options: a lower-deck ticket does not permit sitting upstairs. Premium Tours explicitly does not guarantee the top deck. Check the ticket wording rather than assuming that an open-top photograph describes your seat.

TransporaBus’s standard open-top and Santa-themed tours use first-come seating with no seat reservations or priority boarding. Their listings allow an enclosed substitute in wet weather. Premium Tours also describes possible enclosed vintage bus or coach substitution in exceptional circumstances. Vehicle appearance is therefore not an unconditional promise.

When refreshments change the comparison

Lights & Bites includes savoury and sweet snacks with tea, coffee and hot chocolate in a converted vintage Routemaster. The listed refreshments are included rather than an inferred optional tea upgrade. Confirm the current menu and dietary arrangements. This website does not present it as a full traditional afternoon tea.

Golden Tours, The Classic Tour, Big Bus, Premium Tours, TransporaBus’s standard open-top and Santa listings exclude food and drinks. No refreshments were established for the TransporaBus vintage or See London By Night listings. Arrange a meal separately when your chosen ticket does not include one.

Choose value around your evening

Golden Tours offers three departure areas. See London By Night takes about an hour, while most additions advertise 90 minutes. Lights & Bites combines sightseeing with refreshments, and several vintage buses make the vehicle part of the experience. Compare the time and cost of reaching the meeting place as well as the ticket itself.

The two TransporaBus open-top music-led listings identify an English-speaking driver without establishing live guiding. Their vintage and Lights & Bites listings include a live English guide. If commentary is part of what you want to buy, use the inclusion list for the exact product.

Seats for children and access needs

Golden Tours says ages 0–4 travel free without a seat; a separate seat requires a child ticket. Confirm other operators’ age categories individually. Wheelchair-accessible badges do not establish access to an upper deck. Read the family guide, then confirm any boarding, pushchair or dietary requirement that determines whether your group can take part.
